The Consular Section kindly informs that, as of 1 March 2026, changes will be introduced to the registration procedure for short-stay Schengen visa applications (type C) in the e-Konsulat system.

Under the section “Register a Schengen visa application”, applicants will be required to select one of the following categories:

• Schengen visa – tourism and other purposes

• Schengen visa – business purposes

• Schengen visa – family or friends visit

The introduction of the above categories is intended to organise and streamline the registration process, including a clearer allocation of available appointment slots.

The change applies exclusively to short-stay Schengen visas (type C) and does not affect national (long-stay) visa categories.

The first appointment slots under the updated categories will be released on Saturday, 21 February 2026 (during the night hours) and will be available for appointments from 1 March 2026 onwards.

Applicants are advised to select the category corresponding to the main purpose of travel. Applications registered under an incorrect category may not be accepted by the Consular Section.
