Poland in Qatar

On 1–4 February, Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, paid a visit to Qatar. The purpose of the visit was to define directions for implementing the provisions of the Agreement on Cooperation in Higher Education and Academia, signed during the visit of the Amir of Qatar to Poland in July 2024.

The delegation, composed of representatives of the Ministry, the National Science Centre, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, the National Centre for Research and Development, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, and the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, held talks with key Qatari partners from academia and institutions responsible for research and innovation development. Meetings with representatives of Qatar University, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, and the Qatar Science and Technology Park focused on developing a joint action plan covering pilot projects, study visits, and research cooperation in mutually agreed priority areas.

The programme also included a networking reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of  the Republic of Poland, which facilitated contacts between representatives of Polish institutions, the innovation sector, and members of the academic community active in Qatar.
