Poland in Qatar

On 21 October this year, Ambassador Tomasz Sadziński visited the Aspire Sports Academy. The visit was inspired by the Academy’s ongoing cooperation with Polish athletes, as well as the signing in September of a cooperation agreement with the Polish football club Lech Poznań in the field of education.

During the visit, the Ambassador met with the Academy’s Director General, Mr. Ivan Bravo. He congratulated Qatar on the qualification of its national football team — composed mostly of Aspire graduates — for the FIFA World Cup 2026, for the first time in history through regular competition. He also underlined the strong potential for cooperation between Poland and Qatar in the field of sports, particularly in training infrastructure, exchange of experience, and programmes for coaches and young athletes.

Founded in 2004, Aspire Academy is a government institution established to identify and develop young sporting talents while ensuring they receive a full secondary education. Over the years, it has played a key role in Qatar’s sporting achievements. Currently, around 70% of the players in the Qatari national football team are graduates of this academy.
