On 9 June 2026, Arlanda Airport hosted celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the launch of the air connection between Warsaw and Stockholm. The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm, LOT Polish Airlines, Swedavia, and the Polish Tourist Organisation.

The route, launched in 1946 shortly after the end of World War II, is one of LOT’s oldest international connections and has, from the very beginning, contributed to strengthening economic, cultural, tourism, and social ties between Poland and Sweden.

As noted by Małgorzata Mrozińska-Kruk, Counsellor at the Political and Economic Section, close cooperation between institutions and partners on both sides of the Baltic Sea within the framework of the enhanced Strategic Partnership highlights the importance of the Warsaw–Stockholm connection for developing new areas of cooperation.
