Karolina Ostrzyniewska
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Kingdom of Sweden
H.E. Karolina Ostrzyniewska is a Polish diplomat with extensive experience in EU affairs, government coordination, and international representation.
She has held senior roles in Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, directing the Department of the Committee for European Affairs and serving as Secretary of the Committee. From 2013 to 2024, she has led key EU coordination work within the Polish government, including preparations for the Committee for European Affairs, COREPER, the General Affairs Council, and the European Council.
As Deputy Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU (2008-2013), she represented Poland in COREPER I, which she chaired during Poland’s 2011 Presidency of the Council of the EU. Earlier in her career, she worked as a national expert in the European Commission and in the Office of the Committee for European Integration.
H.E. Karolina Ostrzyniewska became chargé d’affaires a.i. of Poland in Sweden in October 2024 and has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary since June 2025. She is a recipient of the Polish Silver Cross of Merit and the Swedish Royal Order of the Polar Star, Commander First Class. A graduate of economics and law, she speaks fluent English, French, and German.
