Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska Guest of Honour at an Event at Stockholm City Hall

On 8 September, at the invitation of Olle Burell, President of the Stockholm City Council, Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska delivered a speech at Stockholm City Hall. The audience of approximately 70 guests included representatives of the City Executive Board, chairs of Stockholm's district councils, heads of municipal departments, and more than 20 CEOs of leading companies operating in Stockholm.
The Ambassador’s speech focused on three main themes: Poland and its place in Europe and the world; Polish-Swedish relations; and the ties connecting Poland with Stockholm and Sweden.
Ambassador Ostrzyniewska emphasised that recent years had been a particularly intensive period in Polish-Swedish bilateral cooperation, as reflected in concrete joint initiatives and activities in the political and economic spheres.
The Ambassador also presented the many dimensions of the Polish presence in the Swedish capital. She highlighted the role of Polish culture, actively promoted by the Polish Institute in Stockholm, as well as the contribution of the Polish diaspora, students, and tourists. This broader perspective portrayed Polish-Swedish relations as more than cooperation between two states: they also constitute a multifaceted network of institutional, social, and interpersonal ties.
On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Ostrzyniewska met with Olle Burell, President of the Stockholm City Council. Their discussion covered, among other topics, opportunities for cooperation between Stockholm and Polish partners, as well as the situation in the capital and in Sweden ahead of the parliamentary elections.
