Celebration of the 234th anniversary of the 3 May Constitution at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm

On 6 May 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm hosted a celebration marking the 234th anniversary of the adoption of the 3 May Constitution, one of the most important symbols of Polish democracy and political heritage.
Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Sweden, Mrs. Karolina Ostrzyniewska, together with the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr. Linas Linkevičius, and Mr. Dag Hartelius – representing the Government of Sweden – emphasised the historical significance of the Polish-Lithuanian union and the importance of cooperation between Poland, Lithuania, and Sweden for the security and prosperity of the Baltic Sea region. Particular attention in the speeches was given to solidarity with Ukraine and support for the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian civil society.
The ceremony concluded with a remarkable concert by musicians from Lithuania and Poland – Ingrida Kažemėkaitė-Vitkauskienė (soprano), Andrius Apsega (baritone), Rūta Blaškytė (piano), and Dorota Żarowiecka (piano) – highlighting the shared cultural heritage of our nations.
