Conference on Psychological Defence in Lund

On 14-15 October 2025, a Conference on Psychological Defence was held in Lund, organised by Lund University and the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. Among the speakers was Ms. Katarzyna Szaran, Director of the Department of Strategic Communication at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The aim of the seminar was to exchange experiences and best practices in countering interference and manipulation in the information environment, as well as to inspire the European Union to take urgent action within the framework of the European Democratic Shield. In her presentation, Director Szaran discussed the analysis of the Swedish and Polish non-papers, highlighting key areas of Polish-Swedish cooperation in the fields of civil society and media.

Participants also welcomed Director Szaran’s announcement of plans to develop the information activities of the Wot Tak channel toward Poland’s eastern neighbors and Central Asia. Partners, including the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), emphasised that this initiative contributes to strengthening these regions’ resilience to FIMI-related threats.

The topics discussed at the conference aligned closely with the themes of the Strategic Partnership between Poland and Sweden established in November 2024.
