24.11.2025
On 24 November 2025, the Deputy Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Magdalena Biejat, participated in the 4th Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, held at the Riksdag in Stockholm. The event was hosted by Speakers Andreas Norlén and Ruslan Stefanchuk. The summit brought together representatives of national parliaments and parliamentary organisations from more than 70 countries. The delegation accompanying the Deputy Marshal included the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Stockholm, Karolina Ostrzyniewska.
Following opening remarks by Speaker Norlén, the event began with a video address by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, followed by a speech delivered by Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard.
During the plenary session, Deputy Marshal Magdalena Biejat underlined that any peace initiatives must take into account Ukraine’s position, its inviolable territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its aspirations for integration with international structures. She also stressed the need to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to counter future acts of aggression.
Participants of the Forum adopted a joint statement reaffirming full support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders – including its territorial waters. They further called for additional tightening of sanctions against Russia and its allies, and welcomed the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend until 23 June 2026 the restrictive measures imposed in response to the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
On the margins of the summit, the delegation also took part in a seminar dedicated to Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Her Majesty Queen Silvia attended the event.
