In her speech, the Swedish State Secretary focused on the government’s energy policy priorities, both at the national level and within the European Union, as well as on regional challenges in the Baltic Sea area related to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring the security of energy supplies.

Ms. Lundbäck also emphasised the importance of electricity cooperation in the Baltic Sea region and the long-standing tradition of integrating the Nordic countries’ energy systems, initiated more than a century ago with the laying of an undersea cable between Denmark and Sweden. She highlighted the good cooperation between the transmission system operators of Poland and Sweden, which ensures the operation of the undersea SwePol Link.

Participants also discussed the future of nuclear and renewable energy in Sweden.
