21.08.2026
Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Karolina Ostrzyniewska, visited Karlshamn, where, at the invitation of the Port of Karlshamn authorities, she inaugurated the new Gdańsk-Karlshamn ferry route. The new connection creates additional opportunities for trade between Poland and Scandinavia, while also contributing to increased tourist traffic.
On 12 August 2026, Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Gdańsk–Karlshamn ferry connection at the invitation of the Port of Karlshamn. During the ceremony, she officially cut the ribbon and gave interviews to local media. The event was also attended by Caroline Säfström, CEO of the Port of Karlshamn; members of the POLSCA Baltic Ferries management board, Paweł Pluto-Prądzyński, Jakub Lasota and Piotr Redmerski; Magnus Gärdebring, Chairman of the Executive Board of Karlshamn Municipality; and Mats Olausson, Chairman of the Port of Karlshamn Supervisory Board.
During her third working visit to the Blekinge region, the Ambassador met with members of the POLSCA Baltic Ferries management board to discuss the development of ferry connections between Poland and Sweden, as well as the challenges involved.
At the invitation of Business Blekinge, the Ambassador also visited the oil-fired reserve power plant in Karlshamn, where she took part in a discussion on the Swedish energy system and its interconnection with Poland.
Following in the footsteps of many Polish tourists, the Ambassador also visited one of Karlshamn’s tourist attractions — the Mörrum Salmon Fishing Centre (Mörrums Kronolaxfiske), a destination renowned among anglers around the world.
