Meeting with the representatives of institutions supporting people experiencing homelessness in Stockholm

On 29 January, the Embassy's Consular and Polish Community Section hosted a meeting with a seven-member delegation representing two Stockholm-based institutions providing support to people experiencing homelessness: the Social Welfare Department of the City of Stockholm (Socialförvaltningen EU Team) and the Social Emergency Services (Socialjouren).

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm was represented by Consul Andrzej Szmidtke, Consul Bożena Michałowska-Jach, and Vice-Consul Andrzej Jach. The Stockholm EU Social Services Team provides short-term support and assistance to people in difficult situations, including Polish citizens residing in the municipality. Representatives of the Swedish support organizations received information on the scope of possible assistance offered by the Consular and Polish Community Section to homeless Polish citizens interested in returning to Poland. Information was also shared on possible channels of communication between Swedish services and their counterparts in Poland.
