Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek visited Sweden

On 24 October 2025, Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek, accompanied by Deputy Minister Dariusz Mazur, took part in a seminar organised by International IDEA, dedicated to the topic of the rule of law.

In his opening remarks, Secretary-General Kevin Casas-Zamora presented the goals and activities of the organisation, which monitors the state of democracy worldwide. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Karolina Ostrzyniewska, highlighted the objectives of the Polish–Swedish Strategic Partnership in the field of human rights and the rule of law.

Minister Żurek delivered a speech on the rule of law in Poland, while Deputy Minister Dariusz Mazur, participating in the discussion panel alongside Charlotte Kugelberg, Undersecretary of State at the Swedish Ministry of Justice, exchanged experiences between the two countries on this subject.

Minister Waldemar Żurek also met with the Prosecutor General of Sweden, with whom he discussed Polish–Swedish cooperation in criminal matters. His conversation with the Chancellor of Justice of Sweden focused on joint efforts to strengthen democratic resilience in Europe.
