05.06.2025
The official unveiling of "Museum”, a sculpture by Polish artist Monika Sosnowska, took place on Djurgården island in Stockholm. It is the sixth permanent installation in the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park. The park was established by Prinsessan Estelles Kulturstiftelse (Princess Estelle's Cultural Foundation), founded in 2019, with the aim of promoting cultural initiatives in Sweden, with a special focus on contemporary art.
According to the Swedish daily Expressen, “This is so far the best sculptural proposal by PREKS, with an intriguing story behind it.”
The event was honored by the presence of the Swedish Royal Family, with the inauguration conducted by His Royal Highness Prince Daniel. The ceremony was also attended by the Crown Princess, Her Royal Highness Princess Victoria, and the park’s namesake and patron, Princess Estelle. Among the speakers were Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in Sweden Karolina Ostrzyniewska, the foundation’s director Sara Sandström, and the artist herself.
The musical accompaniment was provided by Jacob Mühlrad, with a piano performance by John Nalan. The event was co-organized and supported by the Polish Institute in Stockholm.
The sculpture park offers guided tours daily from June 4 to September 1 at 1:00 PM. Meeting point: PREKS information kiosk at the Folke Bernadotte Bridge and de Besches väg.
We warmly invite you to visit this extraordinary place and explore the artist’s work – both in Poland and internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
