Opening of the Polish pavilion at Nordic Life Science Days 2026

On 8 September, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Karolina Ostrzyniewska, officially opened the Polish Pavilion at Nordic Life Science Days 2026 at Kistamässan in Stockholm-the largest life science event in the Nordic region, bringing together representatives of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical sectors.
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska emphasised that Poland’s life science sector is one of the most dynamically developing branches of the economy in Central Europe, encompassing biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and research and development (R&D). Polish biotechnology companies develop innovative products and technologies of their own and successfully introduce them to global markets. Poland’s life science ecosystem—based on cooperation between businesses, non-profit organisations and public institutions—is expanding rapidly and is of strategic importance to the country’s economy.
Fifteen Polish companies and organisations from the life science sector presented their products and services at the pavilion, which was organised by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). The pavilion’s partners were the Polish Association of Biotechnology Companies BioForum and the LifeScience Kraków Cluster.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Jessica Martinsson, Director General of SwedenBIO, the organiser of Nordic Life Science Days, as well as representatives of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and PKO Bank Polski.
The event was preceded by a networking meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm. During the meeting, the special guest, Professor Jan Komorowski of Uppsala University, introduced the Polish participants to the Swedish biotechnology sector and shared his insights into practical cooperation with Swedish partners.
