In a short video, the Ambassador for Cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region, Tõnis Nirk, summarized the achievements of the concluded Estonian Presidency, focusing on strengthening resilience and sustainable development. He emphasized that Estonia gave priority to support for Ukraine, including the protection of civilians, countering human trafficking, cooperation among border services, and the safeguarding of cultural heritage.

Ambassador Karolina Ostrzyniewska presented the priorities of Poland’s Presidency, which, like previous chairmanships, are based on three pillars: a safe and stable region, a sustainable and prosperous region, and regional identity. She stressed the need to reinforce the political dimension of the CBSS with a strong focus on regional security, in line with the Vihula Declaration of 16 May 2025. She also referred to Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski’s remarks, who identified the protection of critical infrastructure and countering hybrid threats as key priorities of Poland’s Presidency.

The Ambassador presented selected events from the Presidency’s calendar, including an expert seminar on the protection of critical infrastructure in Stockholm (19 November this year). The Director General of the CBSS Secretariat, Gustav Lindström, outlined this year’s organizational action plan, highlighting the importance of seeking common solutions, exchanging best practices among member states, and continuing discussions on the organization’s reform.
