Study visit of a delegation from Małopolska in Sweden

As part of a study visit by the Self-Government of the Małopolska Voivodeship and the Regional Centre for Social Policy in Kraków, a meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm, aimed at exchanging experience and strengthening Polish-Swedish cooperation in the field of senior policy. The delegation was led by Ms. Marta Malec-Lech, Member of the Board of the Małopolska Voivodeship.

Ms. Katarzyna Hess from Ambea Innovation Hub presented Swedish experience in process automation, digital innovation, technology, artificial intelligence, and robotics, which are used in the care of elderly people and persons with disabilities. She also outlined current challenges in this area as well as ongoing initiatives, including cooperation with Nynäshamn Municipality in developing a shared vision for care services.

Representatives of the Association of Polish Women in Sweden, Ms. Maja Bergendorf and Ms. Krystyna Jacob, highlighted the role of Polish diaspora organisations in the social life of elderly people of Polish origin in Sweden.

The programme also included visits to, among others, the Polish–Swedish Senior Centre, the Swedish Dementia Centre, and Stockholm City Hall.

We welcome the active engagement of regional and local authorities in strengthening the strategic partnership between Poland and Sweden.
