Swedish Political Week Almedalen (Almedalsveckan 2025) in Visby
27.06.2025
In the last week of June, Visby once again became the center of political and social dialogue during the annual Swedish Political Week.
The origins of this initiative date back to 1968, when Olof Palme, then Minister of Education, gave a spontaneous speech from a truck in Almedalen Park.
Recognised as a model of democratic public debate, Almedalen Week brings together Swedish politicians, experts, NGOs, journalists, activists, and citizens in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Sweden, Karolina Ostrzyniewska, participated in several panels and debates, addressing topics important for Polish-Swedish relations as well as the future of the European Union and the Baltic Sea region.
