Visit of the delegation from the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk

On 6 March, representatives of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk visited the Vrak Museum in Stockholm, continuing the fruitful cooperation initiated in 2025 during a visit by a Swedish delegation to Gdańsk. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen relations between Polish and Swedish institutions working on maritime history and cultural heritage, within the framework of implementing the Polish-Swedish strategic partnership.
On 6 March, representatives of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk visited the Vrak Museum in Stockholm, continuing the fruitful cooperation initiated in 2025 during a visit by a Swedish delegation to Gdańsk. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen relations between Polish and Swedish institutions working on maritime history and cultural heritage, within the framework of implementing the Polish–Swedish strategic partnership.
The Director General of the Vrak Museum, Lars Amréus, welcomed the guests, presenting the museum’s history, scope of activities, and noting its nomination for Museum of the Year 2026. The Deputy Director of the Museum of the Second World War, Mateusz Jasik, spoke about his institution’s activities, which were previously visited by the Swedish Royal Couple alongside the President of Poland and his spouse during their stay in Poland.
Representatives of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk showcased selected examples of historic World War II (ship)wrecks in the Baltic Sea, ongoing conservation work, and maritime themes featured in the museum’s activities and main exhibition.
