A new IT tool in the appointment booking system for submitting applications for national visas.

The Consular and Polish Community Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi announces the launch, effective 30 March 2026, a new tool in the appointment booking process for submitting applications for national visas via the e-Konsulat registration system, involving online visual verification of the applicant’s identity and their identity document (video verification).

The new tool is designed to enhance security and raise the standard of services provided by the Consular and Polish Community Section, as well as to streamline the process of allocating appointment slots in light of the continuing high demand for visa applications. The video verification service allows the applicant’s identity to be confirmed in real time, meaning that appointment slots can be allocated in line with the actual demand reported by individual clients.

The video verification service, provided by an external provider, is subject to a fee. The cost of the service is EUR 7 plus VAT. The service provider offers a 24-hour technical support service (helpdesk) and guarantees a high level of security for the data processed.

Applications submitted via the new tool are placed in the queue of pending applications, in line with current practice. During the automatic appointment allocation process, priority is given to those who have completed the video verification process. Other applicants will be allocated an appointment at a later date, once the queue of applications submitted via this service has been cleared.

At the same time, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi would like to inform you that the mission is currently operating under special conditions due to the security situation in the UAE and the precautionary measures in place. These circumstances also affect the organisation of consular work, including the availability of appointment slots.

In the interests of the safety of visitors and consular staff, the availability of appointment slots has been temporarily restricted. This means that:

• the waiting time for available slots may be longer than usual,

• appointment slots may be available only for selected, most urgent categories of cases,

• the availability of slots may depend on the current organisational situation at the mission.

Further decisions regarding the organisation of consular work will depend on developments in the security situation in the UAE. We therefore recommend that you regularly check the announcements published by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi.

Furthermore, in view of the current security situation, the current recommendation from the Emirati authorities to remain in a safe place, and specific organisational constraints, we would like to remind you that the Embassy is unable to guarantee the safety of visitors in the event of an emergency. We therefore kindly ask that you only visit in person when absolutely necessary, that you do not arrive before your appointed appointment time, and that you strictly follow the instructions of the embassy staff.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abu Dhabi reserves the right to change or cancel visa appointments at any time, depending on the security situation.
