Poland in the UAE

In connection with the military operations undertaken in the region and the issuance of security alerts for citizens recommending that they seek shelter, we would like to inform you that the Embassy is closely monitoring developments in the United Arab Emirates, including the potential impact of the current situation on security and air traffic operations.
We appeal to Polish citizens staying in the United Arab Emirates to:

• exercising increased caution in everyday activities • avoiding large gatherings and strategic locations (including defence facilities, areas surrounding military installations and other key infrastructure facilities),  • keep up to date with announcements from local authorities, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and consider a plan of action in case the situation deteriorates.

At the same time, we recommend the following for the time being:

• staying indoors as a rule, if possible in a room with as few windows and external walls as possible,  • carrying identification, a charged phone, a charger/power bank, basic medicines, a supply of water, and essential items,  • avoiding the use of elevators, especially in the event of a possible evacuation or movement within the building; use staircases whenever possible,  • strictly following the recommendations of local security and civil defense services until the announcement is canceled.
Due to the tense situation in the region and possible decisions by authorities or carriers regarding temporary restrictions or suspension of air traffic, we recommend:
• Stay in constant contact with your airline to obtain information about possible changes to your journey, delays, flight diversions, or accommodation options in the event of prolonged disruptions. • Keep track of announcements from airports and other official sources of information.
