Poland in the UAE

Ambassador of Poland has discussed development of economic relations with Poland, during his meeting with Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chariman of RAK Chamber of Commerce.

The Ambassador of Poland to the UAE met with Polish and Emirati journalists to discuss bilateral cooperatiopn between the two countries and talk about Poland’s presence at EXPO 2020 Dubai between October 20th, 2020 and April 10th, 2021

MInister Małgorzata Jarosińska - Jedynak visited Abu Dhabi to attend 10th World Urban Forum 2020. WUF conferences are the world’s largest biannual event organised under the auspices of the UN to promote and review urban development policies.

The Ambassador of Poland and Mrs. Robert Rostek supported the Abu Dhabi Dream Ball 2020. The Ball was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance.

The 20th century brought the world inconceivable suffering and the death of hundreds of millions of people killed in the name of sick, totalitarian ideologies. The death toll of Nazism, fascism and communism is obvious for people of our generation. It is also obvious who is responsible for those crimes – and whose pact started World War II, the most murderous conflict in the history of humankind.

H.E. Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of Federal Transport Authority (FTA) - Land and Maritime, as of late met with H.E. Marek Gróbarczyk, Polish Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation met in Poland to sign an agreement on sea transport and trade.

On November 27th the company officially opened its new office in the Emirate. The branch was open by CEO of PGNiG, Piotr Woźniak and the Ambassador of Poland to the UAE, Robert Rostek.

Olga Tokarczuk, Polish writer and activist, won the Nobel Prize in Literature for “a narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life.”

Eighty years ago, German aggression on Poland started the Second World War. In the early hours of 1 September 1939, troops of the German Reich crossed the Polish-German border. Polish Army put up military resistance and expected the Allies’ reaction. On 3 September 1939, France and the UK declared war on the German Reich but did not take any real military action. Poland’s tragic fate was sealed on 17 September 1939 when the Soviet Union launched the invasion of Poland from the East. The attack of the German Reich and the Soviet Union resulted from the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact signed by the two totalitarian regimes, a secret protocol to which effectively divided Central Europe into the so-called spheres of influence.

In observance of Eid Al-fitr celebrated in UAE on 2nd - 3rd of May, Embassy of Poland in Abu Dhabi will be closed.
