Announcement by the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi – situation in the region and temporary closure of the United Arab Emirates airspace
With reference to previous announcements by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, we would like to inform you that, in connection with missile attacks carried out from Iranian territory on selected targets in the UAE, the authorities have decided to temporarily close the country's airspace, This has resulted in the suspension of passenger aircraft takeoffs and landings at airports in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, among others, until further notice.
In accordance with the appeal of the Emirati authorities, we ask Polish citizens to strictly follow local recommendations, in particular:
“For everyone's safety, please follow the recommendations and stay at home or in another safe place. Please do not go out unless absolutely necessary until the threat has passed.”

1️⃣ Polish citizens staying in the UAE
We ask Polish citizens staying in the UAE to:
• stay in a known, safe place and limit going outside to absolutely necessary situations, preferably away from windows,
• avoid places of strategic importance (in particular, areas near military installations, defense facilities, and other key infrastructure elements),
• follow the announcements of the Emirati authorities, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Local authorities regularly send alerts to mobile phones (both Emirati and foreign)in areas affected by potential missile/drone operations. Please follow the announcements and recommendations of the authorities.
With regard to air traffic, please follow the websites and social media accounts of carriers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is launching an additional hotline: +48 22 523 88 80, which will provide support to Poles in the Middle East from Sunday at 5 p.m. Polish time.

All previous recommendations contained in previous announcements by the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi remain in force.
