Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago

Paweł Zyzak was born in Żywiec in 1984, he is a doctor of humanities, a graduate of history at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and doctoral studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Krakow. Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, where he defended his doctoral thesis entitled: "The history of cooperation between American and Polish trade unionists, 1918-1989." From November 2018, he participated in the creation of the Strategic Analysis Center (CAS) of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, as a member of the CAS Organizational Team and advisor to the CAS Head, and from 2019 as a deputy of the CAS Strategic Studies Department. His competences included, among others: direct supervision over the Faculty of International Studies and supervision over the circulation of classified documents at CAS. He specializes in recent history and American affairs. In his scientific research, he dealt with Polish-American relations, recent history of the United States and Polish diaspora issues, especially the activity of Polish diaspora communities in the USA and Western Europe. He is the author and co-author of articles, reports and scientific books on historical and international topics. In 2016, his two-volume publication “ Domino Effect. Did America Overthrow Communism in Poland?”, presenting the history of Polish-American relations in the 20th century, the history of the Polish American community and American aid for the anti-communist opposition in Poland.
