In the Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry (MICR) are carried out R&D works, which cover wide activities range in the field of:

- defence equipment and means against weapons of mass destruction (WMD);

- environmental protection and control of the chemical disarmament process.

MICR also:

- tests protective equipment (against CBRN contamination);

- decontaminants efficiency;

- tests CBRN detection equipment according to both civil and military standards;

- tests susceptibility to decontamination for all military equipment;

- conducts training in protection against CBRN threats at national and international level;

- participate in standardization process at national and NATO level.

MICR is authorized centre to perform expert opinions as well as issue opinions and certificates regarding products and technologies related to its specialization. The Institute also provides services to the armed forces, civil service  and the national economy in wide range. The Institute possess accredited research and calibration laboratories and the Product Certification Center.
