A subsequent step towards opening of the Chinese market for the Polish poultry

Today, the Minister Stefan Krajewski and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Lu Shan on behalf of the China's administration of customs, signed the protocol on the control and quarantine requirements for the Polish poultry meat and processed poultry meat products intended for the Chinese market.
Signing the Protocol between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland and the China's General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China on the control and quarantine requirements for the Polish poultry meat and processed poultry meat products intended for exportation from the Republic of Poland to the People’s Republic of China was enabled by the intensive, joint actions taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chief Veterinary Inspectorate and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing.
The parties reached the final agreement on the document’s content on 1 June 2026 during the on-line meeting. The provisions of the protocol were also discussed by the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries under the Strategic Dialogue held on 1 June 2026 in Beijing.
– The meeting I had with Ambassador Lu Shan today is of unique nature. It marks many months of difficult negotiations and hard work of both the Polish and Chinese party. Preparations to implement the provisions of the protocol we signed today commence now – said Minister Krajewski.
Exportation of poultry meat and products of poultry origin from Poland to the People’s Republic of China will be carried out based on regionalisation at the level of NUTS-3 territorial units (NUTS – Common Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics).
