Deputy Minister Małgorzata Gromadzka on a visit to Singapore: promotion of Polish food and strengthening economic cooperation
22.04.2026
Secretary of State Małgorzata Gromadzka started her visit to Singapore with participating in the opening ceremony of the Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 fair and in the formal opening of the Polish national stand. The objective of the visit is to strengthen Poland's position as a reliable supplier of high-quality food, to support Polish companies on new markets and to strengthen Polish-Singaporean trade relations.
Food & Hospitality Asia fair is one of the most important events in the food and HoReCa industry in Asia, bringing together more than 2,750 exhibitors from 115 countries.
Opening of the EU Pavilion
After the opening ceremony of the fair, Deputy Minister Gromadzka met with the Senior Secretary of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling. Together with her and with Diego Canga Fano (Deputy Director-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the EC) and Artis Bertulis (EU Ambassador to Singapore), the Deputy Minister visited the Singaporean Pavilion and participated in the opening ceremony of the EU Pavilion. Secretary of State Małgorzata Gromadzka stressed the importance of the event as a platform for building strategic relations and promoting innovation in the production of food.
– Singapore plays a key role as a commercial and logistics hub in the region. It is also an important partner in the field of cooperation for food security – emphasised the Secretary of State.
Official opening of the Polish national stand
An important point of the opening of the FHA fair was also the official opening of the Polish national stand, organised by the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) under the slogan “Poland tastes good”. This year’s edition of the FHA is attended by nearly 30 Polish companies in total, of which 14 present their offer directly at the national stand.
– For Poland, the participation in the Asia 2026 fair is not only an opportunity to promote our food but, first of all, to build lasting trade relations in the South-East Asia region. We want Poland to be perceived as a stable and reliable partner delivering the highest quality products – stressed the head of the Polish delegation.
Meeting with Deputy Minister Zaqy Mohamad
During the meeting with the Senior Secretary of State at the Ministry for Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore Zaqy Mohamad, the debaters focused on expanding cooperation in the agri-food sector. Minister Mohamad gave a very positive assessment as regards the quality of Polish agri-food products.
There were also discussions on food security, the exchange of technologies in the area of sustainable agricultural production and specific promotional activities that were to increase the Polish export to the Singaporean market, such as, e.g., “Polish Culture Week” combined with the promotion and tasting of Polish cuisine in Singapore. The Singaporean party also proposed support in organising a B2B session between Polish exporters and Singaporean importers and distributors, also in the online form.
Both initiatives may not only increase the volume of deliveries of Polish agri-food products but also enhance the recognition of products in the South-East Asia region. Deputy Minister Gromadzka, together with the Polish Ambassador to Singapore Tadeusz Chomicki, invited Minister Zaqy Mohamad to Poland.
– We want him to see in person how excellent our products are and how beautiful our country is. In the long term, this cooperation opens up new prospects for the Polish agri-food sector – assured the Deputy Minister.
Celebrations of the 3 May Constitution Day
Deputy Minister Gromadzka also participated in the formal reception organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore on the occasion of the 3 May Constitution Day. During the reception, Deputy Minister Gromadzka emphasised the importance of dialogue and responsibility that shaped contemporary Poland and the strong position of Polish agriculture. She also thanked the Singaporean partners for their commitment, which translated into real contracts and the presence of high-quality Polish products on local tables.
The visit was held in the context of strong relations between the European Union and Singapore, supported by free trade (EUSFTA) and investment protection (EUSIPA) agreements, which constituted a solid foundation for the Polish export.
