Performs the tasks of the Minister related to payments under the direct support system, selected tasks under the Rural Development Programme 2014–2020, standards and conditionality requirements, as well as interventions under the CAP Strategic Plan. The Department is also responsible for analysing the impact of climate change on the agricultural sector and for coordinating environmental protection issues in rural areas.
