Green Week in Berlin: Polish food and concrete talks about markets

16.01.2026

The "Green Week” International Agricultural and Food Fair in Berlin is not only the promotion of Polish food, but also a place where talks quickly translate into decisions important for the export and international cooperation. During this year's edition, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski and Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak held a series of bilateral meetings with partners from Europe, Asia and Africa.

This year’s talks in Berlin also had a clear strategic dimension. In the situation of changing conditions of international trade and growing competition on global markets, Poland has been consistently diversifying the directions of food export. Of particular importance are non-EU markets, including Africa and Central and South-East Asia, which create new sales opportunities for Polish agri-food products. The meetings in Berlin are another example of the Ministry of Agriculture’s active activities aimed at supporting domestic exporters in their expansion into foreign markets.

– The Green Week is a space where promotion meets practice. The talks conducted here have a real impact on access to markets and trading conditions, and their effects go beyond the EU market – stressed Minister Stefan Krajewski.

Poland-Morocco: memorandum and acceleration of the arrangements

One of the highlights of the programme was the meeting between Minister Stefan Krajewski and Ahmed El Bouari, Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Morocco. The talks concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, which is to improve procedures and facilitate access of Polish products to the Moroccan market.

– We hope that the signed memorandum will help remove barriers more quickly and translate into the development of trade, particularly in relation to products of animal origin – indicated Minister Stefan Krajewski. – New markets mean new opportunities for Polish farmers. We are opening the door for Polish food in North Africa.

The Chief Veterinary Officer expressed hope that all negotiated certificates would be agreed until April. The Moroccan party invited the Polish delegation to the fair in Meknes, where the National Support Centre for Agriculture is planning to organise a Polish national stand.

– The Moroccan market shows great interest in Polish dairy products, including milk powder – pointed out the KOWR representative.
