Secretary of State Anna Gembicka participated on an online basis in the Regional Preparatory Meeting before the meeting which will take stock of the 2-year UN Food Systems Summit process. The purpose of the Regional Meeting is to share experiences, good practices and lessons learned from the efforts taken by the representatives of particular countries, so-called National Convenors, in the scope of the follow-up measures after the Summit in the Region of Europe and Central Asia.

At the AGRIFISH Council meeting on 20 March 2023 in Brussels, in part on agriculture, the Ministers exchanged views mainly on the current situation in agricultural markets, especially in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and agricultural trade issues.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk talked today with Vladimir Bolea, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, who was on a working visit to Poland, about the prospects for developing cooperation between the countries.

Undersecretary of State Krzysztof Ciecióra presented the potential of the Polish agri-food sector at a meeting with Algerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni. The talks, which took place as part of Polish-Algerian political consultations, were also attended by Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer and Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński.

Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik participated in the visit which Mr. Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, paid to Qatar in relation to the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries. Deputy Minister Ryszard held talks with the Minister of Urban Affairs of the State of Qatar on the possibility of developing agri-food trade with Qatar.

The most important purpose of the stay of the MARD delegation in the Republic of Korea and Vietnam was the talks about the elimination of barriers to Polish meat exports to these countries. The Polish delegation was headed by Secretary of State Lech Kołakowski. He was accompanied by Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Niemczuk.

Mr. Janusz Kowalski, Secretary of State and Plenipotentiary for the Energy Transition of Rural Areas, participated in a two-day visit to Denmark.
