Secretary of State Szymon Giżyński received today the Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Rachid Chakib Kaid, and the delegation accompanying him. The meeting was organised at the request of the Algerian side.

The first Summit of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Three Seas Initiative member states was held today in Krakow on the initiative of Grzegorz Puda, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The event gathered officials from Austria*, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The meeting was also attended by the EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski.

The meeting was attended by Ryszard Bartosik, Secretary of State.

On 11 October 2021, Secretary of State Szymon Giżyński met with the Secretary of State in the Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Mr Tumur-Uya Jambaltseren. Dorj Barkhas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia, also took part in the meeting.

Today, Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik participated in the meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Visegrád Group countries and Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia (GV4+4), held in Budapest. The occasion for the talks was the 80th edition of OMÉK, the National Agriculture and Food Exhibition and Fair.

Following the signing of the Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of Agriculture by the Ministers of Poland and Palestine, the Palestinian delegation continued their visit to Poland.

Government officials from Poland and Palestine held talks during the Polagra fair, which started today. The two countries also signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of agriculture.

A debate on RES and climate protection in rural areas is taking place today in Grodno near Międzyzdroje as part of the 4th International Conference on Energy, Environment and Agriculture. It was attended by Minister Grzegorz Puda.

State Secretary Szymon Giżyński took part in a quadrilateral high-level meeting on ASF. The meeting, which took place online this week, was organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), represented by Deputy Director-General for Health and Food Safety Claire Bury, with the participation of: the State Secretary at the Czech Ministry of Agriculture Jiří Šíra, the State Secretary at the German Ministry of Agriculture Beate Kasch and the State Secretary at the Polish Ministry of Agriculture Szymon Giżyński. The meeting focused on coordination and cooperation in the field of ASF in the border regions of the invited EU Member States.
