On 11 February 2021, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Grzegorz Puda, met the Ambassador of the French Republic to Poland Frédéric Billet. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current status and prospects of Polish-French co operation at the political and expert level.

EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski announced yesterday that the European Commission does not rule out interventions in the pork sector. At the same time, he admitted that it would be difficult to develop a solution to help all breeders.

On 24 December 2020, the European Union and the United Kingdom reached a consensus on the package of agreements governing their future relations, including the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. Covering the areas such as trade in agricultural goods and fisheries, the Agreement will be a foundation of relations between the EU and the UK after 1 January 2021.

“In contrast to my predecessors, I place emphasis on balance in the agricultural economy and support for family small and medium-sized farms and not, as was the case previously, large enterprises,” Grzegorz Puda, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, emphasized.

During the period from January to September 2020, the value of Polish exports of agri-food products amounted to EUR 25,070 million. This represents an increase by 6.7% against the corresponding period of 2019.

– The European Commission expects small and medium-sized farms to be strengthened, an idea that fits in perfectly with the agricultural programme implemented by the government headed by Law and Justice, emphasised Grzegorz Puda, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, during a press conference following a meeting with European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski.

Minister Grzegorz Puda participated today in an online meeting with the Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany Julia Klöckner and the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman.
