He also informed about the planned visit of the MARD delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan on 11 and 14 November 2025, during which bilateral talks with representatives of the local agricultural administration would be held.

– One of the key elements of the meetings in Kazakhstan will be talks on deepening trade in agri-food products, including the elimination of restrictions applied to products of animal origin from Poland – stressed the Deputy Minister.

Jacek Czerniak expressed his belief that a constructive dialogue would contribute to tapping the potential of economic cooperation between the two countries in a better manner.

– Poland and Kazakhstan have many common interests in terms of food security and modern agricultural technologies. We can see a room for a partnership based on trust and exchange of experiences – he added.

Preparations for the participation of Poland in FoodExpo Qazaqstan

An important topic of the discussion was also the issue of the participation of the Polish delegation and enterprises in the FoodExpo Qazaqstan fair to be held on 12–14 November 2025 in Almaty. As Jacek Czerniak stressed, the event was an important element of promoting Polish food and building trade contacts in the Central Asia region.

The National Support Centre for Agriculture will organise a national stand at the fair, where 16 Polish companies from the agri-food sector will present their export offer. They will be producers of dairy products, poultry meat, sweets, fruit, vegetables, seeds and spices.

Position of the Kazakh party

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Poland, H.E. Nurlan Zhalgasbayev stressed the strategic importance of Polish-Kazakh relations and interest in the further development of cooperation in agricultural matters. He pointed out that Kazakhstan highly regarded the level of development of the Polish agri-food sector and attached great importance to the issue of food security.

The Ambassador confirmed his readiness to support measures aimed at eliminating administrative barriers and improving trade. He also announced that the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Warsaw would actively support the organisation of planned talks between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries in Astana.

– Polish agri-food products are known and appreciated in Kazakhstan for their high quality. Our country may be a gateway for the export of Polish food to Central Asian markets – highlighted Ambassador Zhalgasbayev.

Trade in agri-food products with Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan remains one of the more important customers of Polish food in Asia. In 2024, the value of Polish agri-food export to Kazakhstan amounted to more than EUR 122.9 million.

The most important export groups included:

  • apples and pears – EUR 37.8 million (of which the export of apples themselves – more than EUR 22 million),
  • other processed vegetables – EUR 20.1 million,
  • as well as dairy products, sweets, poultry meat and spices.

In 2025, Poland continues its efforts to empower food exporters in the Central Asia region, among others, through trade missions, promotion of domestic brands and institutional support.

Cooperation based on dialogue and partnership

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has consistently developed dialogue with partners from Central Asia, seeking to fully tap the export potential of the Polish agri-food sector.

The meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan was another step on the way to deepen cooperation and prepare the upcoming talks in Astana, which are to serve for the further opening of markets for Polish products.
