15.07.2026
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has organised a national stand during the Malaysian International Food & Beverage (MIFB) fair, which is held on 15-17 July 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. The Polish delegation is chaired by Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Marek Cieśliński and Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) Katarzyna Wawrzak.
Polish national stand
The official opening of the Polish stand was attended by Director General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Marek Cieśliński, Deputy CVO Katarzyna Wawrzak and First Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Malaysia Zuzanna Barska. The guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia Y.B. Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
During the inauguration, the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasised that supporting Polish entrepreneurs in the development of export remained one of the Ministry’s priorities. He pointed out that in 2025 the export value of Polish agri-food products to Malaysia had exceeded EUR 57 million, which meant an increase by nearly 15% when compared to the year before. The largest share in sales is that of dairy products and confectionery.
– I am happy that the Polish offer is so extensively represented at the fair and I have an opportunity to meet you in person. I encourage foreign partners to talk to Polish entrepreneurs. I wish Polish exhibitors many fruitful meetings and long-term contracts with partners from Malaysia and the whole South-East Asia region – said Director Marek Cieśliński.
When visiting the Polish stand, Deputy Minister Y.B. Datuk Chan Foong Hin became familiar with the export offer presented by Polish food producers. He also had an opportunity to try traditional dumplings with Polish beef stuffing.
At our national stand, the offer is presented by eight Polish companies representing, among others, the following sectors:
- dairy;
- vegetable and fruit and vegetable processing;
- confectionery products and manufacturers of salty snacks.
The Polish stand enjoys great interest among visitors. An additional attraction are live cooking shows using Polish beef, carried out by the Association of Butchers and Producers of Processed Meat of the Republic of Poland as part of the Beef Promotion Fund.
Consultation meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Malaysia
As part of the events accompanying the MIFB fair, the representatives of the Polish delegation attended a working meeting organised at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur. The talks were attended by the representatives of enterprises and experts having experience in exporting Polish agri-food products to the Malaysian market.
During the meeting, legal and operational conditions of pursuing business activities in Malaysia were discussed, with particular consideration given to challenges related to entering the local market and formal requirements for foreign exporters. The discussion also concerned the expectations of Malaysian trading partners in relation to the Polish agri-food offer and issues related to building brand recognition on the Malaysian market.
Veterinary cooperation and access to the market
The Polish delegation also met with representatives of the Malaysian veterinary service. During the talks, issues related to the possibility of gaining access to the Malaysian market for poultry, beef and pork from Poland were discussed.
About the MIFB fair
The MIFB fair covers the most important segments of the food and beverage market – from processed and fresh products through organic food, beverages and snacks to catering solutions and modern technologies for the food industry.
Participation in the MIFB fair is an important element of the promotion of the Polish agri-food sector – it allows for the presentation of the offer, establishing new business contacts and developing cooperation with partners from Malaysia and other countries of the region.
Dynamic growth of export to Malaysia
Malaysia is the third largest outlet market for Polish food in ASEAN (after Vietnam and the Philippines) and one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia. In 2025, the value of Polish agri-food export to this market exceeded EUR 57 million, which means an increase by nearly 15% when compared to 2024. Currently, the main products exported to Malaysia are dairy products (mainly whey) and confectionery.
