Polish food on global markets

– Polish producers show in Paris that we have food that successfully competes on global markets. Our products are appreciated for their quality, taste and innovation. We want Polish companies to gain more customers, develop the export and strengthen their position abroad. The SIAL fair is an excellent opportunity to establish contacts, which may translate into new contracts and greater sales opportunities – stressed Minister Stefan Krajewski.

On Saturday, the Minister participated in the opening ceremony of the fair. Later on, he visited the Polish stands and talked with the producers and entrepreneurs about their export offer and opportunities to conquer new markets. The Minister was accompanied by Wiesław Tarka, chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Poland in France.

Record-breaking national stand

The Polish national stand, organised by KOWR under the slogan “Poland tastes good”, occupied 738 m². For the first time, Polish exhibitors present their offer in five industry sectors: general food products, sweets and snacks, beverages, frozen foods and dairy products.

At the stand, there were products of 70 Polish companies, among others, meat, dairy, fruit and vegetable products, confectionery, pasta, juices and ready-to-eat meals. Visitors may also become familiar with Polish specialties during cooking shows and tastings.

– I am happy to see such a large number of Polish entrepreneurs at one of the most important food fairs in the world. It is they who are the best ambassadors of our food. I would like to thank all companies for their commitment and KOWR for preparing the stand, which allows to present the Polish offer on such a large scale – stressed the Minister.

Polish company awarded for its innovative product

Polish company Oleowita Oil won the award in the SIAL Innovation competition in the category of food products for further processing. The jury appreciated raspberry flour made from seeds remaining after fruit processing.

The product allows to use raw materials, which so far have been a by-product of processing, and turn them into a valuable food ingredient. The award shows that Polish companies not only develop the export but also introduce innovative solutions in the production of food.

France as an important customer of Polish food

After Germany, France is the second largest customer of Polish food in terms of export value. In 2025, Polish companies sold to the French market agri-food products worth more than EUR 4 billion, which accounted for about 7% of the total Polish export in this sector.

France receives mainly Polish poultry meat and meat products, chocolate, bread and confectionery as well as pet food.

Participation in the SIAL fair gives Polish producers the opportunity to reach not only French customers but also customers from other parts of the world. It is an opportunity to present new products, learn the expectations of foreign customers and establish trade cooperation.

SIAL – one of the largest events in the food industry

The SIAL Paris fair is held every two years and brings together producers, distributors and representatives of the food industry from all over the world. More than 8 thousand exhibitors participate in this year’s edition and the organisers expect more than 300 thousand visitors.

Poland has been presenting the national stand at the SIAL fair since 2012, consistently building the recognition of domestic products on international markets. Participation in the event is an opportunity to establish new business relationships, develop trade cooperation and learn about global trends in the food industry. It is also an opportunity to show the potential of the Polish agri-food sector and strengthen the position of Polish food in the world.
