Deputy Minister Gromadzka assured that Poland supported Ukraine. She stressed that a dialogue between Poland and Ukraine was necessary, which would allow to develop specific solutions. At the same time, the Secretary of State pointed to the concerns of Polish farmers.

– An important issue is the adaptation of Ukrainian agriculture to EU standards and requirements that Polish farmers must meet. Our exporters are ready to share their knowledge in this regard and experience from the pre-accession period with partners from Ukraine – emphasised Deputy Minister Gromadzka.

Deputy Oleh Dunda thanked for the Polish support and stressed that Ukraine’s priority was the integration with the European Union. He positively assessed the level of bilateral cooperation in agricultural matters. He also expressed readiness to continue the Polish-Ukrainian dialogue in order to avoid misunderstandings and find solutions to potential problems.

The meeting was meant as a preparation for the Polish-Ukrainian talks at the level of Deputy Ministers of Agriculture with the participation of representatives of the agri-food sector organisations of both countries, planned to be held in the near future. Previous meetings in this form proved to be very effective, as they allowed to discuss many issues concerning mutual relations in a detailed manner.

Polish-Ukrainian trade

Ukraine is an important partner of Poland not only because of its geographical proximity but also because of the high value of trade in agri-food goods. In 2025, the export of agri-food goods from Poland to Ukraine amounted to EUR 1,176 million, which means an increase by 23% when compared to the same period of 2024. We mainly exported products used for animal feeding, cheese and cottage cheese, chocolate and other food products.
