Polish-Uzbek cooperation in the field of agriculture - we develop the potential of trade

Prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation, with particular consideration given to the possibility of increasing trade, are the major topic of talks between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev.

The meeting was also attended by: Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer and Deputy Director General of the National Support Centre for Agriculture Lucjan Zwolak.

State of bilateral relations

Minister Stefan Krajewski stressed that an important step toward intensifying relations with Uzbekistan had been the inaugural meeting of the Polish-Uzbek working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture, held in November 2025 in Tashkent.

– I am convinced that the implementation of the findings of this meeting will contribute to obtaining mutually beneficial results of Polish-Uzbek cooperation. The year 2025 was a time of intensive dialogue on agricultural issues between Poland and Uzbekistan. We are expecting the continuation of close contacts also this year – said Minister Krajewski.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture also reminded that in April 2026 a Polish national stand was planned to be present at the UZFood fair in Tashkent. The Minister expressed his hope that Polish agri-food products promoted during this event would find a large group of customers in Uzbekistan.

Access to the Uzbekistan market for commodities from Poland

During the talks, Minister Stefan Krajewski also pointed to the need to eliminate barriers in the export of Polish food to Uzbekistan. He stressed that many Polish beef, poultry, fish and dairy plants were interested in obtaining authorisations to ship commodities to the Uzbek market.

Position of the Uzbek party

Ambassador Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev stressed that the development of partnership with Poland in the agricultural sector was of strategic importance for Uzbekistan. He also expressed his hope for deepening cooperation in the area of trade and logistics.

The Ambassador declared support in organising B2B meetings between Polish companies participating in the UZFood fair and partners from Uzbekistan.

Trade with Uzbekistan

In the period from January to November 2025, the value of the Polish export of agri-food commodities to Uzbekistan exceeded EUR 48.5 million. We mainly export: chocolate and other food products containing cocoa, products used for feeding animals, other processed or preserved vegetables, frozen vegetables.
