The talks were also attended by the President and employees of the Polish Chamber of Commerce – Promotion Centre and the management of the Grójeckie Sady Association, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Poland’s openness to cooperation with Sweden and Finland
– Poland produces food of the highest quality, which meets the expectations of the most demanding consumers all over the world. We have an extremely strict approach towards the standards regarding pesticide residues in food – emphasised Deputy Minister Gromadzka and confirmed Poland’s willingness to cooperate with Sweden and Finland with regard to increasing trade.
The potential of Polish production of fruit and vegetables
Deputy Minister Gromadzka made the delegation from Sweden and Finland familiar with the potential of Polish production of fruit and vegetables, particularly apples.
– Poland is one of the leading producers of fruit and vegetables in the EU and in the world. We have a strong production base and a well-developed processing sector, which strengthens our export position. In terms of the production of fruit, we are ranked 3rd in the EU, while in terms of the production of vegetables, we are ranked 4th – said the Secretary of State.
– The export of fruit and vegetables remains an important segment of Polish agri-food trade – in 2025, it generated about EUR 3.7 billion of revenues. In addition, this sector is responsible for more than 6% of the total agri-food export value – stressed Deputy Minister Gromadzka.
The Secretary of State also referred to the EU food quality system and Polish products registered as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). As an example, she quoted “Grójec apples”.
– “Grójec apples” combine the tradition of the region with high quality requirements. Poland has as many as 51 registered products under the EU food quality system – reminded the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Nordic markets
The Secretary of State encouraged Swedish and Finnish entrepreneurs and distributors to cooperate with Polish producers and companies in the agri-food industry.
The talks confirmed that Poland attached great importance to relations with trading partners from Sweden and Finland and to the further development of export of Polish agri-food products to the Nordic markets.
Strong economy, high consumer purchasing power and demand for innovative and competitive products make Swedish and Finnish markets attractive expansion destinations that offer Polish companies and producers good conditions for export development.
