We are strengthening cooperation in agricultural issues with Uzbekistan before Minister Krajewski's visit to Tashkent
17.11.2025
The development of dialogue on agricultural issues, including trade conditions, as well as the planned visit of Minister Stefan Krajewski to Tashkent are the major subjects of the meeting between the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland, His Excellency Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev.
The need to strengthen the dialogue
The Secretary of State stressed Poland’s interest in strengthening agricultural cooperation with Uzbekistan and informed about the planned visit of Minister Stefan Krajewski to Tashkent. The main objective of the visit will be to talk with representatives of the high-level government administration of Uzbekistan and to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Polish-Uzbekistan working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
– I am convinced that these meetings will open up new opportunities for cooperation, which will be used by entrepreneurs from the agri-food industry of both countries – said the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak.
The Deputy Minister stressed the great interest of Polish producers of food in the Uzbek market, which was confirmed, among others, by the participation of many Polish entities in the economic mission to Tashkent, organised by the National Support Centre for Agriculture, in parallel to the visit of the MARD delegation.
The need to eliminate barriers to access to the Uzbek market
The Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer, who was present at the meeting, discussed the most important Polish demands on access. He mentioned the audit carried out by the Uzbek services in September 2025 as regards the beef sector and confirmed the interest of Poland in receiving inspectors in the field of further industries.
Position of the Uzbek party
Ambassador Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev expressed his belief that Minister Krajewski’s visit to Tashkent would not only be a stimulus for the development of new areas of Polish-Uzbek cooperation in agricultural issues, but would also bring bilateral relations to a higher level.
The Ambassador confirmed the particular interest of Uzbekistan in deepening cooperation with Poland in the field of fodder crops, fish farming and beekeeping, sugar beet and sugar as well as training of agricultural staff.
