Zero Waste Forum 2026

Zero Waste Forum 2026 in Istanbul focused on identifying the practical solutions to reduce post-harvest losses, including the investments in warehouse, cooling and logistics infrastructure. Deputy Minister Gromadzka emphasized that reducing post-harvest losses becomes one of the key components of sustainable development of agriculture.

– Scientific research, innovation and transfer of advanced technologies play a fundamental role in adapting to the present challenges. Each tonne of food saved from loss translates into greater revenues for farmers, lower environmental pressure and greater food security for the communities. This is why supporting research, including these focused on state-of-the-art cooling chain and smart logistics, is a good and necessary investment in more resilient and effective food system – emphasized the Secretary of State.

Bilateral meetings

On the fringe of the Forum, Deputy Minister Gromadzka held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, Professor PhD Ahmet Gümen. In the course of the discussion, the Secretary of State pointed out at the significant potential of economic cooperation between Poland and Türkiye, manifested by growing interest of the Polish entrepreneurs in the Turkish market.

Türkiye is the largest recipient of the Polish agri-food products in the region, while the Polish products have gained trust of the Turkish consumers. Expanding access opportunities for the Polish agri-food products on the Turkish market is of importance for further strengthening of cooperation.
