14.06.2022The head of the Polish government took part in a meeting of a group of EU countries in the Hague at the invitation of leaders of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Netherlands. The heads of governments of Belgium, Portugal and Latvia, as well as the president of Romania, also participated in the discussion. The meeting was part of the preparations for the NATO summit in Madrid, which will be held on 28-30 June. The main topic of conversation was the war in Ukraine. The participants also discussed the idea of strengthening the EU and NATO flanks.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who visited Huta Stalowa Wola, spoke about the assumptions of the document and the prospects of the Polish arms industry. It is a leading manufacturer of military equipment, which will soon supply armaments to the fighting Ukraine. This will be one of the largest arms export contracts of the Polish manufacturer.

This international economic event attracts representatives of state and local administration from over a dozen member states of the Three Seas Initiative. During the consultations, the politicians also continued discussions on the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences. The last meeting of the two state leaders took place at the end of April 2022. At that time, the Prime Minister declared that Poland would help its southern neighbours become energy independent from Russia. During the consultations, the Prime Ministers signed, inter alia, an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense and an agreement on cooperation in the development of transport connections. The Prime Minister, thanking for effective talks, expressed his hope for further good and intensive cooperation.
