Bene Merito honorary distinctions awarded to animateurs of Jewish social, cultural and religious life in Poland and Polish-Jewish relations

On 7 June, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau awarded the Bene Merito honorary distinctions to animateurs of contemporary Jewish social, cultural and religious life in Poland and Polish-Jewish relations.

Minister Zbigniew Rau presented the Bene Merito Honorary Badges to animators of contemporary socio-cultural and religious Jewish life in Poland

The awardees include: Krzysztof Symcha Keller, cantor at the New Synagogue in Gdańsk, Monika Krawczyk, director of the Jewish Historical Institute, Rabin Szalom Dow Ber Stambler, chairman of Chabad Lubavitch Poland, Albert Stankowski, director of the Warsaw Ghetto Museum, Marek Szukalak, director of the Foundation Monumentum Iudaicum Lodzense.

The Bene Merito honorary distinction is conferred by the minister of foreign affairs in acknowledgement of services that contribute to strengthening Poland’s status in the international arena.
