Held on the island of Bornholm, Folkemødet is a three-day event that brings every year around 40,000 participants together to discuss politics, economics, social issues or international affairs.

As part of this year's meeting, Head of Mission Ewa Dębska participated in panels with Søren Gade, Speaker of the Danish Parliament, and Marie Bjerre, Minister for Europe, during which she presented Poland's activities during the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, raised issues related to Polish foreign policy, Polish-Danish partnership and the current international situation.

In a discussion on Ukraine organised by the European Commission Representation in Denmark, Ewa Dębska presented Poland's support for the country in the face of Russian aggression and emphasised support for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. Security issues were the topic of a panel organised by the Danish European Movement, in which, together with the ambassadors of Germany and the United Kingdom, the Head of Mission discussed the future of Europe in a changing world, joint efforts in the area of defence and the fight against threats from Russia.

Security threats, with a focus on the Baltic Sea region, were also the subject of a panel discussion organised by the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy. The role of culture in strengthening democratic values, including the fight against disinformation, was voiced by Ewa Dębska in an event by the Danish Cultural Institute.

During the festival, the Embassy also organised additional activities to promote Poland and Polish culture, such as a quiz about Poland, Denmark and the European Union, and in cooperation with the Polish Fruit Growers' Association, we promoted Polish apples as part of the “Time for Polish apples” campaign.
