Poland in Denmark

Starting Monday, April 20th both Poland and Denmark decided to lift some of the restrictions introduced in March to limit the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. Both countries decided on a strategy of a gradual reopening, depending on the number of new confirmed Covid 19 cases, the public following the sanitary recommendations and the healthcare system capacity.

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Ambassador Henryka Mościcka Dendys commemorated the heroes of the uprising laying flowers at the monument of Holocaust Victims at the Jewish Venstre Kirkegård in Copenhagen.

On 11th of April Italian La Repubblica published an article by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki who wrote about the hope tha Easter time brings us and the need of solidarity.

On 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

The decision to close Polish borders to foreigners was extended until 14th of April.

In order to smoothen the transport of goods via the Polish – German border simplified measures for border control and four additional border crossing points have been opened, including one dedicated to live-stock in Guben-Gubinek.

As of Sunday, 15 March 2020 Poland closed its borders to foreigners. The restrictive measures will be applied for 10 days, but may be further extended. International passenger air flights and international rail travel have been suspended for 14 days. Transport of goods within the EU’s single marked is exempted from the above.

In order to limit the spread of COVID-19 on 15 March 2020 the government of Poland introduced a series of restrictive measures, including a ban for foreigners to enter the country. These restrictions have no impact on the transport of goods.
