Ministers exchanged views on the draft conclusions for the upcoming special European Council meeting. Poland was represented by the Minister for the European Union, Konrad Szymański.

In the context of the preperation for the European Council discussion was focused on the single market, industrial policy and digital transformation. Ministers also referred to the situation in Belarus and the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.

The Union's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, informed of the state of play of the EU-UK negotiations and the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement.

The presidency briefed ministers on the trilateral contacts held with the European Parliament and the Commission since late August to secure the required consent of the European Parliament on the MFF regulation. Commission presented also the state of play regarding Article 7(1) TEU procedures.
