Poland in the EU

On January 27, 1945, Soviet soldiers liberated the German Nazi death camp KL Auschwitz. What they found there continues to sow terror and elicit unequivocal moral condemnation to this day.

The Berlin conference on resolving the conflict in Libya, climate diplomacy, cooperation aimed at supporting the Sahel states and developments in the Middle East were the main points on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels.

“We have recently witnessed attempts by President Vladimir Putin and other representatives of Russian authorities at reinterpreting the history of World War II,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said at the Sunday ministerial meeting of member countries of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) that was held in Brussels.

- In this crisis situation, it is necessary to maintain transatlantic unity - said minister Jacek Czaputowicz, summing up the Friday meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC), which held an extraordinary meeting in Brussels.

The European Parliament Management Innovation Day conference brought together 365 top-level officials of the European Commission, the General Secretariat of the Council and the European Parliament. Amongst the panelists was the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the EU Andrzej Sados who presented Poland's position on building a strong EU economy.

The 20th century brought the world inconceivable suffering and the death of hundreds of millions of people killed in the name of sick, totalitarian ideologies. The death toll of Nazism, fascism and communism is obvious for people of our generation. It is also obvious who is responsible for those crimes – and whose pact started World War II, the most murderous conflict in the history of humankind.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski inaugurated the 2nd edition of the Polska Food Festival. The honorary guests of the festival were introduced and welcomed by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the EU Andrzej Sadoś.

Poland will be reaching climate neutrality at its own pace, in line with its objectives - said the head of the Polish government after the end of the first day of the European Council summit in Brussels. This solution will allow Poland to carry out the energy transformation in a safe and economically beneficial way.

EU-Africa relations, promoting and protecting human rights in the world, and the effectiveness of the Common Foreign and Security Policy were the main topics at the Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels. For the first time the FAC meeting was chaired by the new EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

Organized at the conference center of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU, the event was an opportunity to debate ways to achieve the very ambitious long-term goals for the EU's climate policy, which will need immediate development of new instruments, including financing, in order to effectively support the transition, especially in the most affected regions and Members States. The event gathered many experts and was opened by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the EU Andrzej Sadoś.
