On the sidelines of the summit, an informal meeting was held between leaders of the EU and the Western Balkan countries. Poland was represented by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

17.05.2022The Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Blaszczak, participated in a meeting of the heads of defence ministries of the European Union. During the meeting, issues of implementation of the EU Strategic Compass in terms of improving the effectiveness of the Union's missions and operations were, among others, discussed. A discussion on the situation in Ukraine was held with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.

The leaders had the opportunity to exchange views with US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski. On the second day of the meeting, leaders discussed energy, the EU economy and the Covid-19 pandemic. Poland was represented by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

EU leaders held a discussion on the situation in Ukraine and security related to EU defence and energy policy. In addition, EU leaders discussed further EU economic development and a new European growth model.

Manipulated photos and videos circulate on social media to discredit and tarnish the image of both Ukraine and Poland. The media have become another theatre of war, which is why we urge you not to be manipulated. The target of disinformation attacks is not only Ukraine, but also the Western world.
