Special European Council meeting

The main topic of the special European Council meeting was the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework, including support for Ukraine. Poland was represented by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

During the European Council, an agreement was found on the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, including the creation of an Instrument for Ukraine, as well as the Strategic Technology Platform for Europe (STEP). In addition, further military support to Ukraine was discussed. A call was held with President Zelenski. In light of the worrying developments in the Middle East, EU leaders held a discussion on security issues and debated measures to prevent further escalation. Furthermore, in the context of the farmers' protests, EU leaders referred to the challenges facing the agricultural sector, declaring the need to respond to them and to monitor the situation.
