Video conference of foreign affairs ministers

The discussion on Ukraine and the Eastern Partnership was the main topic of the informal meeting of foreign ministers that took place in the form of video conferences. Poland was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz.

During the debate, ministers discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the situation in the Eastern Partnership countries, while the current affairs item on the agenda also included the situation in Libya, Afghanistan and the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus.

- Ukraine and other Eastern Partnership countries need strong European Union support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic - underlined Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz.

Minister Czaputowicz emphasized that the reform plans of the new Ukrainian government deserve full EU support. He also drew attention to the situation on the illegally annexed Crimean peninsula, stating that the unlawful actions aimed at further integration of Crimea with Russia should be met with an adequate EU response.
