14th retirement pension will be paid out in November

The President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda signed an agreement on March 8th, approving the additional yearly financial benefit for pensioners and annuitants, which assumes the pay-out of the so-called 14th pension. – It is an example of a kept promise and a manifestation of care for the material well-being of Polish pensioners and annuitants – stresses Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg. The fourteenth pension will be paid out to 9.1 million people.

President’s Andrzej Duda’s signing of the additional annual financial benefit for pensioners and annuitants signed in 2021, brings the disbursement of the 14th pension in November of 2021.

– It is an example of a kept promise and a manifestation of care for the material well-being of Polish pensioners and annuitants – stressed the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg who participated in the meeting. She also added that the Ministry of Family also implements two programmes, allowing to establish houses and clubs for seniors and to increase the offer of activities intended for the elderly. – We are going to allocate exactly half a billion Polish zlotys to the “Senior+” and “Active+” programmes within the next five years.

The 14th pension will be disbursed under the same principles as the additional cash benefit paid out each year, i.e., the 13th pension, covering however a limit of the eligible persons – to the beneficiaries who receive the pension in the amount not exceeding PLN 2,900 gross. In the case of persons who receive the benefit in the amount exceeding PLN 2,900, the “zloty for zloty” principle will apply, meaning that the so-called 14th pension will be decreased by the amount exceeding over PLN 2,900.

9,1 million beneficiaries will be covered by the disbursement (93.76% total), including approximately 7.9 million beneficiaries who will receive the benefit in full amount (in the amount of the lowest retirement pension, due to the amount of the received benefit in excess of PLN 2,900 per month. The total cost of disbursement of the 14th pension is estimated at PLN 11.4 billion.
